THIS SPECIAL HEAD CONSISTS ON A LIMITED THICKNESS CHAIN SAW FOR CUTTING MARBLE, GRANITE AND STONE SLABS
Noat has decided to develop this patented system in order to solve two specific problems:
1) Noat has decided to develop this patented system in order to solve two specific problems:
If the customer wants to cut the holes of the sink in the kitchen tops (if the shape of the holes is rectangular or squared), it’s not possible to complete the cutting with the cutting machine disc because the disc has a big size and a specific circular shape (FIG. 1).
In fact, the disc has to stop a little bit before of the angles and, in a second phase, the operator completes manually the cuts through a hose in order to remove the internal piece.
With our machine the operator’s intervention with the tool is not necessary because the machine automatically completes every cut (without the operator, therefore even working by night), firstly using the disc and then the chain saw in the angles!
In fact, once the disc has performed the straight cuts, the chain saw automatically descends and completes the cuts in the angles thanks to its limited size (FIG. 2).
The machine will be equipped of a special overbench with the surface in stone in order to allow the chain saw to reach up to 2 cm that are necessary for removing completely the pieces (FIG. 2).
2) The second application concerns the close cuts on slab in order to obtain pieces close to each other for the optimization without having material waste, for example in the cut of the ‘pié goose’ steps:
In the market there are many software for the numerical control machines that optimize the slab cuts in order to avoid material waste by placing the drawings (of the pieces that have be cut) really close to each other!
This function is theorically valid but there are some problems in the concrete realization of the cuts.
The problem is that many times, in the working phase, the operator has to move manually the pieces already cut by the saw in order to allow the machine to complete even all the other cuts without damaging the close pieces.
The problem is that many times, in the working phase, the operator has to move manually the pieces already cut by the saw in order to allow the machine to complete even all the other cuts without damaging the close pieces.
The special chain saw is installed in the numerical control cutting machine mod. ‘SFERA 625’ because this is the most suitable and fastest machine for cutting slabs thanks to the exceptional head rotation speed (360° rotation). Don’t forget that SFERA 625 is a 5 interpolated axis CNC cutting and profiling centre and, besides using the chain saw for the processing just described, with SFERA it’s possible to use either discs or tools for all the other types of three-dimensional processing typical of the CNC machines.

The single load bearing beam is made of very thick steel on which there are two sturdy hardened steel sliding tracks, so that the machine can work precisely for a much longer time.
The sliding guides of the beam are covered with hardened steel strips.
The varnishing is made in a particular way: Before the workings, sandblasting with an immediate zinc based treatment. After the workings, washing and double varnishing.
Control panel with TOUCH SCREEN mounted on a pendant station with IMMEDIATE and EASY functionalities with a big display that highlights the machine main parameters.
The saw-blade holder slides on recirculating ball shoes, providing a great stability and precision to the tool.
The up and down movement of the disc is possible through four recirculating ball shoes that slide on hardened steel sliding tracks and through a recirculating ball screw. That allows to obtain a high precision in the disc positioning and to absorb the vibrations.
The system is completely covered by bellows and carters in order to avoid that dust and water splashing compromise the duration in time of the machine.
The movement precision of the axes, achieved by BRUSHLESS motors, is guaranteed through the couplings of controlled backlash ground inclined teeth gears and racks.
Sturdy cable chains protect the cable movement.
The workbench is fixed and it can also be tilting.
